New Job!

Last week I made a huge move across the country to Oxford to be a digital embroidery technician for a company called Shirtworks. I'm really enjoying the work and learning a lot about multi-head embroidery and working within a production environment.

Jan Constantine - Work Experience

Last week I worked in Jan Constantine's studio. Jan has the official license to produce London 2012 Olympic Games cushions and merchandise, it was really exciting to see how the designs had developed over time and the translation of the line drawings into hand embroidered appliqué products. I was working with designs for the Queens Diamond Jubilee next June, photographing, analysing and annotating changes before final designs could go into production.

I helped out hand sewing and positioning manipulated lace structures onto the beautiful dresses for the catwalk collection in the show. These are a few of the dresses I helped work on.

Three designs from my third year collection were sold through studiomade@ntu a University established swatching studio.

Tiger Print Competition Entry

The 30th of July was the deadline for the tiger print gifted Christmas competition, I experimented with different Christmas ideas taking inspiration from 2012 trends and bringing in elements of my degree show collection which complemented the Christmas feel which decorative embellishment, soft textures and wired beading.

This is the initial inspiration mood board I created and along with this one were 3 others where I explored the development of my ideas and created a textural bauble for the tree.

Graduation Day

Last week was graduation it was a really nice day to get together with everyone from the course and the rain held off longer enough for some nice photographs :]
